| Re: Hello! Thanks! I'm OK just using freewebs at the moment though. I like their simple tools as I don't know how to do web development. |

| Re: Hello! If you like simple web-design tools, you might want to look into finding a copy of Dreamweaver. It lets you essentially click-and-drag stuff into a what-you-see-is-what-you-get interface (or wysiwyg, pronounced whiz-e-wig). You can switch seamlessly from the HTML to the end result. It outputs some fairly sloppy code, but it's a good way to get a 'feel' for HTML. (Learning the <i> <b> and <u> tags, then gradually figuring out <table> tags, and what not.) (And who else remembers Angelfire.com when it was free and adless? n.n |

For the WYSIWYG tools, Dreamweaver produces the best and tightest code. That's their claim to fame. While true they do put in a few more tags than strictly necessary, it isn't excessive like many WYSIWYG code generators. I have a really old copy of Dreamweaver (v4) and it doesn't support PHP at all or CSS very well, so I've given it up for a programmer's text editor (MS Notepad is pathetic). Still, I use my old Dreamweaver because it has an awesome FTP system. Dreamweaver and the related tools in the suite are what the independent pros use. For corporate websites MS Frontpage gets a lot of use, but that's because MS pretty much owns the corporate computing market space. Oh... nice art, mtmt1. I liked the hint of toes on the hippocampus.
