How about 'other' as category

You could add 'other' as a category. One of my stories has woman being changed by wearing a magic t-shirt. Anyways, just a thought..

Well, wouldn't a magic T-Shirt be either accidental, willing, or punnishment? (technically speaking)

I think accidental TFs are more fun to think about.

Accidental TFs are generic in nature. Like a scientist working on a retro virus, not realizing it, mixes the wrong vials together that contain feline dna and gets turned into a cat anthro. Or the wizard who mixes dragon blood into the wrong potion and turns himself into a dragon. These are examples of accidental transformations. In the first case it was a technical/biological cause or reason. In the second case it was a magical cause. Accidents triggered the changes, but there are other reasons behind the mechanics of the transformations.

There could be spontaneous transformations, for example, someone walking down the street just randomly turns into a bird and flys away, for no appearent reason. This isn't really an accident, unless someone has malfunctioning transformation device pointed in their direction... It is just spontaneous change, which could be for no reason.

In the case of a magic t-shirt. It could be willing, if the person wearing the shirt knows what will happen when the shirt is worn. Or it could be accidental. If the magic t-shirt was somehow inadvertantly exchanged with a normal shirt, for example. Or it could be a punishment, someone cursed the t-shirt and gives it to an enemy. The mechanics of the change is the same (magic t-shirt), but the reasons used to trigger the change are different. Just expanding upon what Soty said.

I agree, accidental tfs are more fun to think about.

Yes, accidental is fun.

In accidents, no one assumes that undoing it will be possible or easy - at least, the readers won't ^-^

Happening by their own free will? Where's the fun in that? I mean... yes... free will.
